I received this from my mom today. As I was cruising the blogs...Maureen's inspired me to go ahead and post it. Thanks mom and Maureen!

IF I HAD MY LIFE TO LIVE OVER - by Erma Bombeck (written after she found out she was dying from cancer).

I would have gone to bed when I was sick instead of pretending the earth would go into a holding pattern if I weren't there for the day.

I would have burned the pink candle sculpted like a rose before it melted in storage.

I would have talked less and listened more.

I would have invited friends over to dinner even if the carpet was stained, or the sofa faded.

I would have eaten the popcorn in the 'good' living room and worried much less about the dirt when someone wanted to light a fire in the fireplace.

I would have taken the time to listen to my grandfather ramble about his youth.

I would have shared more of the responsibility carried by my husband.

I would never have insisted the car windows be rolled up on a summer day because my hair had just been teased and sprayed.

I would have sat on the lawn with my grass stains.

I would have cried and laughed less while watching television and more while watching life.

I would never have bought anything just because it was practical, wouldn't show soil, or was guaranteed to last a lifetime.

Instead of wishing away nine months of pregnancy, I would have cherished every moment and realized that the wonderment growing inside me was the only chance in life to assist God in a miracle.

When my kids kissed me impetuously, I would never have said, "Later. Now go get washed up for dinner."

There would have been more "I love you's" and more "I'm sorry's."

But mostly, given another shot at life, I would seize every minute... look at it and really see it... live it and never give it back.

STOP SWEATING THE SMALL STUFF!!!

Don't worry about who doesn't like you, who has more, or who's doing what. Instead, we should cherish the relationships we have with those who do love us. Let's think about what God HAS blessed us with, and what we are doing each day to promote ourselves mentally, physically, and emotionally. I hope you have a blessed day.

If you don't mind, send this on to all the women you are grateful to have as friends. Maybe we should all grab that purple hat earlier. Please send this to five phenomenal women today in celebration of Beautiful Women's Month. If you do, something good will happen -- you will boost another woman's self esteem.

Ok...this aint fair. This makes every bloody holiday since I've been married that I've been ill!! Sunday evening I started feeling odd and had a bit of a clearing of the throat cough. By Monday I was running a 98.9 slight fever (mind you I usually run around a 97) and it had already taken siege in my throat and was assaulting the sinus passages up near my nose. On Tuesday I felt worse and called the dr and made an appt for Wednesday as hubby was at work (and this way he could have an appt too as he was sick earlier in the week) and I really had no way there unless I took a cab or called my Txsis. To be honest, I was afraid of getting her sick so I held on. By 4-5pm, I was beginning to think I should have gone in that day as I was running a 101.7 . I felt like I was dying all damn night. Poor hubby slept on the sofa that night as well as last night and more than likely will tonight too. Anyhow, when he's not in bed I usually stay curled under the covers because there isnt quite enough heat to keep me warm. When he IS in bed, I usually kick the covers off because it gets too warm with both bodies in bed. Tuesday....to show what kind of fever I was running....it felt so warm in bed it felt like both of us in bed as well as 3 others. I nearly kicked the blankets off but thought better of it because you should sweat a fever out. The fever broke sometime in the early Weds morning as when I awoke my face was ice cold but the rest of me under the covers felt fine. When I got to the dr I was running a 99 with a 140 over 80 bp. Good news is that I dont seem to be gaining any of that weight back. Im at 268 and that is even after being naughty last week with the chocolate. I think Im maintaining because Im actually watching the calories I take in and have made substitutions in what I eat for a couple meals a day. Anyhow, the dr took one look and I told her it felt like early December again and she insisted on doing a "nose tickle". Long story shorted...it turns out I have the flu. *bah* According to the dr, they had 12 confirmed cases of the flu come through their doors on Tuesday and that even those who'd had the flu shot were coming down with this....albiet the people who had the flu shot only get it for 2 days or so while us who did not get the shot are ill for 5-7 days. There seems to be a 2 day gestation period for this bugger and it doesnt exhibit the same symptoms as we normally would see. I didnt want to believe I had the flu because I always have the nausea complete with technicolor yawning and hip/ knee/ ankle pain as a companion effect of it. With the arthritis I seem to have in my knees and ankles it's hard to tell but usually my hips dont hurt unless I have the flu and they werent aching now. The dr assured me this flu isnt manifesting our bodies like normal. This one is disguising itself as a sinus problem and working from there. I have a sneaking suspicion that maybe the one in December had been the flu also and we just didnt think to check. Hubby had this a few days before me, but by the time he got to the dr (yesterday) the virus had already been in his body for almost a week and was too late to treat with the Tamiflu like the dr had me on. Due to his diabetes, he's at risk of an infection so the dr put him on an antibiotic to kill the infection and something for his wheezing.

Havent been out of bed for two days now...thank goodness for laptops. I think Im going to relocate to the sofa for a change of scenery.

Man....dunno what's up but this sux. Im down with that same cold I had in the beginning of December. It's all in my sinuses and throat. Already coughin up and have only a partial voice ...if that. YES...before anyone asks...I DID call the dr today and have an appointment for tomorrow. I DID NOT wait a week like is usual for me because I know what this is. It started out all the same so I knew what to look for. Someone send me some soup cuz I need it for sure. If Im not around for the next few days and emails pile up and I dont answer right away like normal this is why....*sneezes*

OOohh it's been cold here in Texas lately. Some days it decides to be a nice balmy 70 or so and by the next day it's in the damn 40's. I wish Mother Nature would get off the rag and make up her blessed mind as I'd like to be able to adjust the liner in my coat for the season. Gotta love those kinds of coats...liner on inside for winter that can be removed so the outer shell can be used as a spring coat. I've yet to be able to use it like a spring coat though because we go from 40's to like the 80's overnight and it's too warm for the spring part of the coat. Ahh well.

The phone call from TxSis went better than expected. Im wondering if she simply got it all out of her system a couple hours before she called. My SCSis has been calling every few days to check on me. I wish she'd stop...I love her dearly but Im fine. We all figure I'll probably get my crying done when the box or boxes show up. I may not even open them until hubby gets home because Im sure I'll need him around when I do.

Got a call from my folks yesterday. They donated gramma's manual organ (the two keyboard with pedal kind) to a Christian organization. It's a shame as we all wanted to keep it because it was gramma's but mom and dad had no room and neither did my sil. I dont really have room either but damn well would have FOUND space for it. The biggest problem would have been shipping it. Like dad said "It takes a truck and at least 2 gorillas" to move it. You can imagine the shipping cost of something that size and weight. Seems she also still owes over $1300 on it. This means the bank account daddy thought he could close needs to be kept open and payments made on the bugger. Ahh well. Also seems that since gramma passed on Jan 31st, SS decided to remove Febs check back out of gramma's bank account. If she had hung on just one or two more days that extra could have gone to paying off the organ. Ahh well. Her income tax mostly will be going to storage and internment in NY, I believe most of the rest of the moneys will be going to finishing paying off the bills. The furniture is staying for the most part in lieu of rent and whatever furniture the landlord dont want will go to the hospice center to be sold. I guess hospice had wanted to pick up the car right away so it could be looked over and dad told them no because he needed it to run the rest of the errands in Florida....the person in hospice said "Oh you are...that means it's running...good enough for me". They'll be picking it up this coming Wednesday. Oh and daddy said yesterday that he'd seen something in the funeral home that if he'd been aware of he'd have had done instead of what she picked out. The urn she picked out was shaped like an ark (I think he meant similar to the Ark of the Covenant...not sure) but he saw these necklaces with teardrops that were meant for a few of the ashes to be stored in so everyone could have a little bit before she was buried. If he'd known before he'd have gotten those too. However, by the time he went to "pick up gramma from her appointment" the urn had been sealed and he didnt want to unseal it to do that. He's decided he wants that for himself so he can be pawned off to his kids. *shakes head* He says he wants the rest to be mixed in with the ashes of the three cats they've had to cremate over the years and everyone (him, the cats and mom) all in one grave. Well at least his sense of humor aint broken....of course Im sure he was probably serious too. Actually, that aint a bad idea....I'll have to write that one down.

On the 19th of this month, we'll be getting a better idea of when hubby's last day is and what all will be happening there. I hate this up in the air BS to be honest....too damn highstrung to tolerate it much. There is alot here that needs repacking if we have to move, and I need to get started NOW if that's the case. Alotta junk to go through...donate, shred or pack. May as well leave all that stuff from gramma in the box. ...at least it's packed already.
